XXXG-01H Gundam Heavyarms

XXXG-01H Gundam Heavyarms is one of the gundam type mobile suits in the anime series New Mobile Report Gundam Wing.

XXXG-01H Gundam Heavyarms

One of the five Gundams that was based on the XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero, developed by Doctor S. With the support of Barton Security Group, it was intended to be used in the original Operation Meteor, which involved dropping a space colony on Earth and using Gundams to clean-up whatever remain to resist them. Doctor S and his assistants killed Trowa Barton, the Heavyarms' intended pilot, as they didn't want the Gundam to be used as a tool for mass [...]. A nameless young man assumed Trowa's identity and took the Heavyarms to use directly against OZ's military forces.

As its name implies, Gundam Heavyarms is heavily armed with a large variety of weapons like gatling guns, and missiles. While it is a virtual mobile fortress, it is only armed with small heat army knife for close combat. Like other Gundams, Gundam Heavyarms is protected by high-durability Gundanium alloy armor, second only to the Gundam Sandrock in overall protection. Despite its size and weight, the Heavyarms demonstrates surprising agility in battle; with Trowa (a circus acrobat) in the pilot's seat, it is able to execute various moves such as flips, mid-air turns and somersaults. When Trowa left for space he left the Heavyarms behind hidden in an unspecified location. The Heavyarms was later recovered by Gundam Supporter Sally Po who would take it to Heero Yuy just as he was AbOUT to head back into space and The Two took the Heavyarms with them to Peacemillion. The Heavyarms holds the distinction of being the only Gundam to have survived the events of Gundam Wing relatively intact, having been neither destroyed nor requiring a complete rebuild.

The Heavyarms was unable to function at all in outer space, similar to the problems faced by Wing Gundam in that it was constructed specifically to operate within Earth's atmosphere. Gundam supporter Howard later modified it into XXXG-01H2 Gundam Heavyarms Kai ("Kai" is Japanese Kanji character "改". In English means "Modified".). This upgraded Heavyarms had the addition of several vernier thrusters, making it suitable for operation in space. The handheld beam gatling gun is upgraded to the double barrel-type for more firepower. In the manga, the Heavyarms' upgrade received a different set of ammunition. It retained the single-barrel gattling gun, and was able to equip a double-cannon backpack onto its vernier thrusters which could be ejected upon the exhuastion of its ammunition; a small missile silo was mounted on its right arm (although in the US manga, it appears on the left arm due to the order switch), and was seen carrying an unspecified type of Rifle. Gundam Heavyarms Kai was finally destroyed in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.

Besides the obvious visual differences between the "TV version" and "Endless Waltz version" of the Heavyarms Kai, there were a few relevant technical differences; the heat army knife is removed in the EW version and has two pairs of shell-firing double gatling guns, replacing the double beam gatling. The EW version also increased the number of missiles and has four chest gatling guns, although they're smaller than the ones used in the TV version. Finally, the Heavyarms sports a different color scheme.

OVA original

During the production of Endless Waltz, Hajime Katoki redesigned the gundams for the movie. Before the movie was finalized, the initial concept of the Heavyarms Kai was somewhat different. Aside from a similar paint job to the original Heavyarms Gundam, it was armed with a large gatling cannon attached to a drum on the back by an ammo-feed belt. The gatling cannon was eventually dropped and replaced by the double handheld gatling cannons, and the paint scheme later dropped for a blue motif.

Gundam Dellinger Arms

Gundam Dellinger Arms is a Gundam-type mobile suit from the After Colony timeline, first introduced in the anime series New Mobile Report Gundam Wing. It does not appear in the anime; its first and only appearance is in the semi-canon story Tiel's Impulse () , published in the Ultimate Playing Book () , a model kit mook (magazine-book). ISBN 4-408-61474-2

Shortly before the end of the Eve Wars, the Romefeller Foundation used data taken from the five rebel Gundams to construct new mass production model mobile suits. Gundam Dellinger Arms was based off of the XXXG-01H2 Gundam Heavyarms Custom. Dellinger Arms maintained its predecessor's focus on ranged combat, but was designed to protect localized areas such as cities and bases. As such, it loses the V-shaped blade antenna almost synonymous with Gundams, lowering its maximum radar range, but also loses the head-mounted vulcan guns, which tended to throw off the delicate targeting sensors with repeated use. Dellinger Arms' primary weapon was a double beam Gatling gun, similar in design to the shell-firing Gatlings carried by Heavyarms and later the Serpent. The rest of its armament remains unclear due to the nature of the Tiel's Impulse manga, but it seems to possess a pair of Gatling guns in its chest, as well as homing missiles in the shoulders and micromissiles on the legs, much like Trowa Barton's Heavyarms.

An unknown number of Dellinger Arms units were produced at Romafeller's secret manufacturing plant on Colony X18722. Former OZ Space Force pilot Trinoi Levinski stole a Dellinger Arms during Tiel Nonbleu's break-in at the plant and used it to escape the colony. Trinoi helped drive off the Romafeller pursuit force, allowing Tiel and company to reach their goal, the Graveyard of Soldiers. After arriving, however, Romafeller's Gundams appeared, newly upgraded and ready to exterminate the "irregulars". In a bloody battle, Trinoi managed to destroy both of the enemy Gundams, but ended up dying himself with the critically damaged Dellinger Arms exploded.
