Wendy Yuengling Baker
Wendy Yuengling Baker ( ) is known for being part of the D.G. Yuengling & Son brewing company family and for being groomed to take ownership of the company, along with her sisters, when her father Richard L. Yuengling Jr. relinquishes control.
Along with her three sisters, Yuengling Baker is heiress to the $1.4 billion fortune. D.G. Yuengling & Son is the oldest still-operating brewery in the United States and Yuengling Baker will be part of the sixth direct generation to control the company.
Yuengling Baker is the daughter of Richard L. Yuengling Jr., granddaughter of Richard L. Yuengling Sr., great-granddaughter of Frank D. Yuengling, great-great-granddaughter of Frederick Yuengling and great-great-great granddaughter of David Yuengling, the founder of D.G. Yuengling & Son. She is the sister of Jennifer Yuengling-Franquet, Deborah Yuengling Ferhat and Sheryl Yuengling and great-niece of F. Dohrman Yuengling.
Business
Yuengling Baker is Chief Administrative Officer at D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. Of working with her father, in 2009 Yuengling Baker stated "You learn a lot working with him. The more I work with him, the more I appreciate the knowledge that he has. We are getting there, but we aren't ready for him to vacation in Florida full time yet."
Previously, Yuengling Baker had worked as head of sales and marketing through the Mid-Atlantic region.
Of being a woman that will eventually help to head the company, Yuengling Baker stated "It's significant, particularly in the beer business. It's the first time our company will ever have been run by women, and it's changing in our business. It's the first time you're seeing this in companies, particularly smaller organizations that are being founded by women."
Yuengling Baker also sits on the board of WVIA Public Media, a Pennsylvania media company.
Personal
For school, Yuengling Baker attended Lehigh University along with her sister Jennifer. She studied business and economics and belonged to a sorority before graduating in 1997.
Yuengling Baker is married to James Bradley Baker. Together they have daughter Ashley and live in Baltimore, Maryland. They purchased their "high end home" for $850,000 in July 2012.
