Jennifer Yuengling-Franquet
Jennifer Yuengling-Franquet ( ) is known for being part of the D.G. Yuengling & Son brewing company family and for being groomed to take ownership of the company, along with her sisters, when her father Richard L. Yuengling Jr. relinquishes control.
Along with her three younger sisters, Yuengling-Franquet is heiress to the $1.4 billion fortune. D.G. Yuengling & Son is the oldest still-operating brewery in the United States and Yuengling-Franquet will be the sixth direct generation to control the company.
Family
Yuengling-Franquet is the daughter of Richard L. Yuengling Jr., granddaughter of Richard L. Yuengling Sr., great-granddaughter of Frank D. Yuengling, great-great-granddaughter of Frederick Yuengling and great-great-great granddaughter of David Yuengling, the founder of D.G. Yuengling & Son. She is the sister of Wendy Yuengling Baker, Deborah Yuengling Ferhat and Sheryl Yuengling and great-niece of F. Dohrman Yuengling.
She is married to Dale K. Franquet Jr., and together they have sons Derrick and Morgan. Both Derrick and Morgan have been given the last name Yuengling, presumably to eventually take over the family business. The family lives in Pottsville.
Business
With her father still owning the company, Yuengling-Franquet has not yet moved into a CEO role. As of early 2014, she works as a plant coordinator. Growing up, she had worked in the gift shop.
The Florida Department Of State Division of Corporations lists Yuengling-Franquet as first officer under her father in the business.
Education
Yuengling-Franquet attended Pottsville High School in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. She made the Pottsville High All-Sports Hall of Fame for her "outstanding softball" performances.
Yuengling-Franquet attended Bucknell University and graduated in 1993. While at university, Yuengling-Franquet was ACTIVE in softball and was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Bucknell touts her records with the synopsis in the Hall of Fame: "Jennifer Yuengling-Franquet is considered one of the best catchers and leadoff hitters in the history of the Bucknell softball program. She started 144 out of a possible 145 games in her career and led the Bison to four straight 20-win seasons. Yuengling posted a .397 batting average as a senior, the 11th-best mark in program history, while her .332 career average ranks ninth all-time. She broke school records for career walks (66) and longest hitting streak (20), and her 67 career stolen bases rank second all-time behind only Hall of Famer Lisa Fink. As a junior and senior, Yuengling was a perfect 37-for-37 on stolen-base attempts. On Bucknell's career lists, she also ranks second in runs (111) and fifth in hits (163)."
After Bucknell University, Yuengling-Franquet moved to Lehigh University for their graduate program, where she studied counseling psychology. In an interview, Yuengling-Franquet stated "From the training that I received during my psychology education, I learned that psychology is applicable in any situation or environment. What better place to put some cognitive-behavioral techniques into action than a 5th generation family business!"
Yuengling-Franquet is a sponsor of Bucknell University's basketball team, along with her father.
