Vageesh Saraswat

Vageesh Saraswat is a Hindi journalist and well known poet. He is one of the most famous Indian Satirist. Born in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh on 7 November 1969. He is the second child of Dr. Shankarlal Saraswat and Mrs. Savitri devi. He has literary background. His father Dr. Shankarlal Saraswat was Hindi professor and also have written many poems in Sanskrit. He has done his M.A. in Hindi. He has done research on Sharad Joshi's Satire Writing. He has worked with many well known Hindi Newspapers. He was the columnist of 'Humara Mahanagar'. His column was named as 'Tarkash'in Humara Mahangar Hindi Newspaper. He was the Editor of Literary Magzine 'Udgaar'. He is also involved in politics. Born in the small hamlet of Swadeshpur, 25 km from Aligarh, which sees a daily migration of hundreds into Mumbai, Saraswat is a poet whose poem Eklvya ka Angutha floored Raj Thackeray. Back in 2005, Thackeray thought the lyrics perfectly reflected his mood and sentiments as he looked at beating a political path of his own. And that is how a journalist and poet became the party’s vice-president. He is the Vice President of Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena(MNS)1. He have also launched Hindi Online weekly newspaper 'Vagadhara'. His collection of few poems are published in 2005 named as 'Eklavy ka Angutha'. The book is appreciated by many well known personalities from various fields. He released his another Hindi book 'Tarkash Ke Teer' in the year 2010. The book is the compilation of his satirical articles published in Hindi daily over the last three years. Tarkash ke Teer has raised a few eyebrows, as it allegedly criticises the MNS's anti-North Indian stand in 2008.
