Matt Tomer, better known by the stage name Remot, is an American hip hop producer. He is known through numerous internet venues, including HipHopDX, Vinyl Meltdown, Okayplayer, and Rap Reviews
Biography
Remot's rise to prominence started on the Hip Hop news website hiphopdx.com, where he won numerous production-based contests, remixing well-known songs such as Nas' "Surviving the Times” and Stat Quo's "G.R.I.T.S." He went on to win the American Gangster Remixtape Contest, in which 130 different producers from around the world submitted their remixed versions of Jay-Z's American Gangster album in 2008. The album was pressed and released by DX.
Mick Boogie/Terry Urban
Recently, Remot has been featured on Mick Boogie and Terry Urban's mixtapes. He first contributed the beat to Smile Sarah from the Can We Kick It/Yes We Can mixtape. He contributed two tracks, "What if We Cry?," and "Back at My Place" on the wildly popular mixtape Viva La Hova: The Mick Boogie and Terry Urban Coldplay & Jay-z Mashup. In December 2008 Remot did a remix of Adele's First Love which featured a guest verse from Naledge of Kidz in the Hall. The remix went on to be featured on numerous prominent music sites, including Rollingstone.com.
