Rainwound is a Progressive rock/Melodic death metal one-man band from Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. The band, despite being unsigned, is currently in the studio recording for the follow-up to Shrouded Destiny, entitled The Ivory Chapel.

History

Formation

Rainwound was created during the summer of 2005 by lone-member, Brandon Strader. Strader is following in the footsteps of great multi-instrumentalists like Arjen Lucassen and Jari Maenpaa, and chooses to record all INSTRUMENTS and vocals on his own.

Shrouded Destiny

The debut, Shrouded Destiny, was unleashed on May 28th, 2007 but had been recorded in 2006. The long time it took to produce the album was due to Strader attending college at the time. The debut was influenced by bands like Opeth, My Dying Bride, and the legendary composer, Nobuo Uematsu. Shrouded Destiny features 9 songs and clocks in at AbOUT 73 minutes. It's a concept album that dwells in a fantasy world.

The Ivory Chapel

The follow-up to Shrouded Destiny is expected to be released some time in early 2008. The Ivory Chapel is also a concept album, yet the differences between it and the debut is that this story is based in our world during medieval times. Only the album title has been released at this time, but more information will appear on the band's official website. The Ivory Chapel will feature some paintings by Melinda Gramnaes, a fellow Interactive Digital Media classmate of Strader at Jefferson Community College.
