Liu Shiyuan

Liu Shiyuan (Chinese language: 刘诗园, Liu Shiyuan is an artist, based between Beijing and Copenhagen. She was born in Beijing, China in 1985.

Background

Liu Shiyuan is now based between Beijing and Copenhagen. She was born in Beijing, China in 1985, has taken a MFA degree in Photography, Video and Related Media from New York School of Visual Arts, and a bachelor's degree from Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. She has had her solo exhibitions at YUZ Museum in Shanghai, Leo Xu Projects, Andersen´s Contemporary in Copenhagen, White Space Beijing in Beijing, a solo with Asian Contemporary Art Consortium in San Francisco, and a solo exhibition at Artissima, Present Future in Italy. Her works have been presented at Aurora Museum curated by David Quadrio, He Xiang Ning Art Museum curated by Feng Boyi, the 7th Shenzhen Sculpture Biennale, and in Guggenheim Foundation program in New York. She was rewarded the Paula Rhodes memorial award, Honorary AIR Awards at Kala Art Institute, and was invited by Carol Yinghua Lu to spend three months at the OCAT International Artist Residency in Shenzhen.
