LuckyPDF

LuckyPDF is an artist group based in South-East London, UK that has been running since 2008. LuckyPDF is made up of the artists James Early, John Hill, Ollie Hogan and Yuri Pattison primarily, with an extended network. They create internet video programs typically showcasing other artists work. Their website is similar in that their homepage also displays work by other up-and-coming artists. Most of the work they show is video art, performance art, digital art or new media art with many of the artists from London and of their generation.

One of their more well-known projects is the sale of their mailing list or 'luckypages,' which is a directory of all of their email and Facebook contacts still on sale for 249.99 GBP. Though it was only sold to those already on the list, their aim being to cement those people together and highlight the group of people. Their personal aim was to shed themselves of 'who they knew' and to be judged on the quality of their content.

In late 2010 they collaborated with Auto Italia South East to realise the project From LuckyPDF TV: This is Auto Italia Live, consisting of five, one hour long TV episodes performed and broadcast live over the internet and to a studio audience.

LuckyPDF have had residencies at SPACE (studios), Peckham, and the Woodmill, both in London, UK.

In 2011 they exhibited at the Internet Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, at the 3rd Athens Biennale and were commissioned as part of Frieze Projects at the Frieze Art Fair 2011 alongside artists Bik Van der Pol, Pierre Huyghe, Christian Jankowski, Oliver Laric, Peles Empire, Laure Prouvost and Cara Tolmie.

In January 2012 they were awarded 2nd place in the inaugural Samsung Art+ award. Later that year LuckyPDF were featured as the first Dazed and Confused magazine residency and presented work by artists Angelo Plessas, Daniel Swan & Holly White in three consecutive print issues of the magazine (March–May) In April they presented a new live work as part of the launch event of the ICA London exhibition Remote Control where they invited Chloe Sims from the UK reality television show The Only Way is Essex to make a personal appearance at the private view and critique the exhibition.
