Igor Stosic

Igor Stosic, (Serbian Cyrillic: Игop Cтoшић ; born October 6, 1978 in Belgrade, SFR Yugoslavia) (now Serbia), is a Serbian soccer Midfielder. He currently plays for St. Paul Twin Stars and is the most decorated player for the Twin Stars, with 5 consecutive NPSL All-Star team honors (one with the Minnesota Blast), and 1 MVP honor. He remains the only player in the NPSL Midwest Region to be named to the All-Star team 5 consecutive times, and one of two players, the other being Jed Hohlbein of the Madison 56ers to be named to the NPSL Midwest All-Star team 4 consecutive times with one team (Twin Stars).

Youth Career

Igor earned All American Honors in 1999. In 2000 [Senior Year] Igor finished the season with 25 goals, 20 assists and 70 points in 20 appearances, these performances earned him All-American for the second consecutive time.

Career

He started off at the Minnesota Blast in 2005, an NPSL team that dissolved in 2006, earning a name on the inaugural NPSL Midwest All-Star team that year.

He is currently playing for the St. Paul Twin Stars under head coach Youssef Darbaki, playing his first time in 2006, ending the season with an All-Star team honor.

In 2007, he made the NPSL Midwest All-Star team after a succesful season, making history in the Midwest Region, becoming one of three players, the others being Jed Holhbein, and Reed Cooper (Cooper achieving this in 2008), both of the Madison 56ers, to make the All-Star team three consecutive times.

In 2008, his performances helped his team win the Midwest title for the first time, winning a runner-up spot in the National Final Four in New York, and once again won a fourth consecutive name on the All-Star team, joining Hohlbein again as the only players to accomplish the feat.

In 2009, his team once again won the Midwest title, and following the title win, made history again, as the only player in the NPSL Midwest region to make the All-Star team 5 consecutive times. That year he also became a semi-finalist in the NPSL Final Four, followed by a 2009 Midwest MVP award.
