FurtherAI was founded in 2023 by Aman Gour and Sashank Gondala. The company participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2024 cohort. Gour and Gondala developed the idea after identifying inefficiencies in commercial property and casualty insurance operations.

The CTO, Sashank Gondala, previously worked on core language modeling for Apple's Siri.

In 2025 the company raised a US$25 million Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Nexus Venture Partners, Y Combinator, Xceedance, and BTV. The funding brought its total capital raised to US$30 million.
