Edwina Lloyd

Edwina "Eddie" Lloyd is the Labor candidate for the state seat of Sydney in the New South Wales state election, 2015.
Lloyd is criminal defence lawyer in Sydney and has defended Indonesians accused of people smuggling.
Drug history
During the election campaign Lloyd revealed that at age 30 she had been charged with dealing cocaine and subsequently entered rehabilitation. Saying "I want to reduce the stigma and put a human face to these sorts of problems. I want people to see that rehabilitation can and does work." After leaving rehabilitation, Lloyd returned to court where she pleaded guilty to the charge, the magistrate gave her a second chance and did not record a conviction. After this experience and clean from drugs and alcohol, Lloyd enrolled in law school.
Election campaign
As a candidate, Lloyd is advocating for better access to the drug court and programs for people who have drug and mental health issues.
Lloyd is also campaigning on the issue of the sale of public housing at Millers Point, with claiming that the local member Alex Greenwich is not doing enough to save the houses.
