Dino Calabro
Dino Calabro (born 1967), also known as "Big Dino", is a New York mobster who became a caporegime with the Colombo crime family.
Indictments
Caporegimes Dino Calabro, Thomas Gioeli, and soldato Joseph "Joey Caves" Competiello are charged with the June 12, 1991 [...] of Frank Marasa outside his home in Brooklyn. Allegedly, Marasa was killed for his perceived involvement in the [...] of another Colombo family associate.
Also, on March 25, 1992, Calabro then Colombo captain Gioeli allegedly carried out the murders of Colombo family soldier John Minerva. Minerva was shot to death as he sat in a parked car on Long Island. Three other Colombo family members have already been convicted and sentenced to life in prison for participation in these murders. This took place during the infamous Colombo War, where Gioeli sided with the Persico faction of the family.
Cooperation With Feds
being taken into custody by FBI. On 26 January 2010, the feds cut a deal with Calabro for murdering NYPD cop Ralph Dols because he married another gangster's ex-wife. He could have faced the death penalty for blowing away Dols.
