Yekta Ibrahimoğlu

Yekta Ibrahimoğlu (September 27, 1981 in Kırıkhan, Hatay Province) is a Canadian-Turkish soccer player who most recently played for North York Astros in the Canadian Soccer League.

Playing career

Ibrahimoğlu began playing soccer at the youth level with Hatay Kirikhan Spor from 1998-2000. His tenure with the club was quite successful; winning three team regional championships during his three year tenure with the club. Ibrahimoğlu turned professional by signing with TFF Third League side Kilis Belediyespor, playing with Kilis from 2000-2001. Once his term ended with Kilis Ibrahimoğlu traveled overseas to Canada to play with non-league teams such as North York Hearts and Woodbridge Italia both from the Ontario Soccer League.

In 2007 Ibrahimoğlu signed with the Serbian White Eagles of the Canadian Soccer League. He made his White Eagles debut on May 18, 2007 against Trois-Rivieres Attak in 2-1 victory. Ibrahimoğlu helped the Serbian White Eagles win their second International Division title. He aided the Serbian side by reaching their second straight CSL Cup final. But unfortunately they were defeated 4-1 on aggregate by their rivals Toronto Croatia. - - On May 27, 2009 the North York Astros under newly appointed head coach Uğur Çimen announced the signing of Ibrahimoğlu for the 2009 season. He made his Astros debut on June 27, 2009 in a match against Trois-Rivieres Attak. He played whole 2009 season with Astros. Also, he was assistant manager of the team.
