Xivio
Xivio is a flash-based MMORPG designed for "Teens" and "Tweens" with social networking features. The site features advanced parental control tools allowing parents and site staff members to grade user uploaded media with a ratings system similar to the USA Television Ratings Standards. Along with grading user media (which can include pictures, video, music, and blogs) parents are given the ability to specify exactly what rating for media is acceptable for view by any of their children's Xivio accounts.
The theory Xivio.com is exercising in its use of what it calls an "Open Content Ratings System" is that the world community is best suited to judge the content that the community publishes. Xivio uses a peer review system for media uploaded by members.
Xivio is noted as having over 22,000 registered members (as of Sept. 2007) .
Account Types
There are two specific account "types" in Xivio.com

With a child account you can access Xivio.com with limitations set as default to G-Rated content only being viewable. |
Parent Accounts |
With a parent account parent's are given the ability to add multiple child accounts to their account in order to administer parental controls. By attaching a child account to a parent account all media-settings are "locked" and only editable by the parent account. |
