Ntrino Cash is an in-game currency . You can purchase online items using these Game Coins. e.g.: With “Pearl Coins” you can purchase special ammunitions for your ships and special ships and special uniques for your ships.
The game is currently available in german and english. Player vs Player combat is very popular but not necessary. There are many NPC (Non Playing Characters) to hunt and plunder as well. Many alliances can participate in great wars. Alliances build cities and forts and can siege other alliances cities and forts and must defend and repair their own. Players can collect sets of treasure maps from NPC's or trade for them with friends and complete the treasure hunt for various rewards. Smuggling and Hunter missions will also earn various rewards , the rewards get better as you work your way up in Hunter/Smuggler rank.
Player skills
Players skills have a time required to train a skill to a particular level which counts down in real time, starting from mere minutes at level to a week or more at the highest levels. This skill timer continues regarless of whether the player is online or not. The skills a player chooses to train will determine the size of cannons the player can use, the size of ship the player can captain and also determine the players career path (ship builder, cannon maker etc)
Production, buildings, markets and resources
Resources are a much needed commodity as they are used in building a players ships, building cannons, making cannonballs and upgrading buildings as a player skills building construction. Resources can also be sold to Markets. Resources are obtained by doing "production" at a players port , at the buildings a player decides to build. They are also obtained by sinking and looting NPC ships, by sinking and plundering other players ships or by buying from various markets around the map.
Players have the option to build 10 buildings in their bay and must choose wisely as more than 10 are available and what resources you gather in your daily production (reset at 00:00 GMT daily) A level 1 building will produce minimal resources and will produce more as a player upgrades the building , additional workers also increase the output of the building (2x workers per building level)
Treasure hunts
While fighting NPC's, one of their many drops is treasure maps of various colours. Collecting a set of 9 (numbered 1-9) of the same colour will allow the player to go on a treasure hunt and reap rewards not found in normal loots drops. Trading between players is also very common to help each other collect full map sets.
Ships and cannons
DotS combat system allows ships of all sizes to be useful in combat. Ranging from a simple start sloop to a massive Man of War, with all sizes of ships in between to fill a players needs whether it is for combat or cargo or repair. Every player starts with a "starter" ship and as Combat and Navigation skills are trained the class of ship a player can captain in increased, as well as the size and strength of cannons. Ships can be bought from the market for gold or player built (Ship building skill), only ships that are player made can be made "slotted" (1-4 slots) to hold the many uniques that drop from NPC's. All pearl ships have 4 slots. Cannons can also be bought from market up to a certain level in each size, the heavier cannons in each cannon category of small, medium and big must be player made with blueprints dropped from NPC ships.
Unique items
NPC's and Treasure hunts can net a player unique items that can put into a slotted ship to increase various things such as amount of cannons, hull strength ,cargo space etc. Other unique items can boost your production in your buildings.
