Woohwangchungsim-won
Woohwangchungsimwon, Woohwangchungsim-won, Woohwang Chungsimwon or 우황청심원 is a traditional multi-herbal medicine used for disorders of the central nervous system.
==History== Woohwangchungsimwon has long been a miracle remedy, a miraculous embodiment of our ancestor's wisdom and will. The fact that King Moomnu of Silla had sent Woohwang as a tribute to the Song Dynasty of China is proof that Woohwangchungsimwon originated from Korea. Historically, Woohwangchungsimwon began to be acknowledged as a miraculous elixir when ex-king Taejo Sunggye Lee was known to have taken Woohwangchungsimwon before he passed away in the 8th year of rule of the 3rd king of Joseon.
The mysterious and remarkable healing power of Woohwangchungsimwon is mainly based on the empirical Korean medical book 「Hyangyakbangsuh」, as well as Chinese medical books including「Shinnongbonchogyung」, 「Euihakipmoon」 and 「Bonchogangmok」. A systematically and scientifically formulated oriental medicine, its prescription was finalized in 「Dongeuibogam」, which was written by Huh Jun (a famous doctor in Korean history) and other renowned doctors during the fifth year of Gwanghaegul's rule in the Joseon Dynasty (1613) by the order of the king himself.

- l-MUSCONE(main component of musk)
What is l-MUSCONE
A substitute of musk, which is currently widely utilized as an ingredient in medical, cosmetic and other products. l-MUSCONE [chemical name: (R)-3-Methy1-cyclopentadecan-1-one] has equal efficacy as that of natural musk and is a newly developed patented substance which will attract the eyes of related industries both home and abroad using musk in production.
Development background of l-MUSCONE
Musk, which is the dried sachet located between the belly button and genitals of a male musk deer, is effective for stimulating the heart, appeasement, aspiratory improvement, hypotension, anti-stress, etc., and is currently used as a component of medical supplies (e.g. Woohwangchungsimwon, Gongjindan, etc.), but has been entirely imported until now. Since October 1996, however, the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) agreement made it mandatory that all musk imports must have a CITES note issued by the exporting country; but as musk is extracted from musk deer, decrease of supply as well as rapid price hikes were expected and this could seriously affect the very existence of pharmaceuticals and other related industries that require musk as a raw material, so developing a substitute was an urgent and most necessary task. Recently, the UK BBC news reported that musk deer are in danger of becoming extincturet due to excessive poaching and mass usage and demanding measures to be taken, stating highlights of a report jointly published by the WWF, UK and Traffic. According to the report, "musk is one of the most expensive natural resources in the world costing over 45,000USD per kilogram, i.e. three to five times more expensive than gold; but about 160 musk deer are being killed to obtain just one kilogram of musk, and in the case of Russian musk deer, its population has deceased by 50% during the past ten years due to excessive poaching and development." In addition, the report demanded the development of a substitute substance while stressing the need to restrict importing musk until further research is conducted on the population of the musk deer. Thus, l-MUSCONE (main substance of musk) provides a solution to such problems, and is the proud result of our superior pharmaceutical know-how and scientific development methods of traditional oriental medicine. This brilliant achievement has elevated Korea's status in the international society in terms of protecting wild animals and plants at the brink of extincturetion.
Research Verification by Authorized Institutions l-MUSCONE has been tested on its efficacy, pharmacological actions, comparative effect, stability, etc. by 14 renown domestic research institutions (Seoul National University's Natural Product Research Institute, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Seoul National University, Yonsei University College of Medicine, Sungkyunkwan University, Chung-ang University, Chungnam National University, etc.), and was the first substance to be verified through the rational and scientific review by Korea's best efficacy review board, the Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council.
