Description: Brocard & Co. Perfume Company ordered to Kazimir Malevich the drawing of packing and label for eau de cologne "Severny" (1908?), which was produced from 1911 till beginning 1990s in Russian Empire, then Soviet Russia, Soviet Union and Russian Federation. The bottle look like an iceberg with a polar bear on the top. Glass ground-in stopper is covered by glass cap like a figure of a Polar (white, northern) Bear standing on the top of ice block. The label is like Polar Bear standing on the ice block.

• Similar bottle was displayed at “PERFUMER – FRIEND OF ART: Collection of Henry Brocard” exhibition at the PUSHKIN STATE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, Moscow, Russia, December 2008 – February 2009. Also the Advertising Poster (printed in 1911) designed by Kazimir Malevich for the cologne “Severny” was displayed at this exhibition.

• Similar bottle was displayed at the International World Fair in Brussels, Belgium, 1958. Eau de cologne SEVERNY received Grand Prix award.

Museums: Perfume Museum in Barcelona, Spain. Similar bottle in the permanent exposition.
