Vijay Surase is one of the leading Interventionists -Cardiologist in Thane & ranked among the top few renowned cardiologists in Mumbai & the State (Leading Forums/ Times Survey). Dr Vijay Surase, a young Director registered with Ministry of Corporate Affairs is a multitasked-multidimensional personality & a lead Cardiologist at Jupiter Hospital (Thane). He won the AIAC AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE in 2015. Dr. Vijay Surase was first to request to the state government for the past 9 years for tax exemption on Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (AICDs) or Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator and other lifesaving medical devices which got approved in Maharashtra State Budget by then Deputy CM Ajit Pawar who approved cut on tax on Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators(AICDs) from 12.5% to 5% on 20 March 2013. AICDs corrects the heartbeat by jolting electricity. He was shortlisted in list of "Young intellect of Nation-Presidents Selection- 40 Young talents under 40-year 2007". He has worked as Hon.Consultant to Mumbai Police & the Governor Of Maharashtra. He was nominated for United Cultural Conventions International Peace Prize for 2008 for attaining excellence in the services for society on log of NGO,s. He has a record of 36 angiographies in a day in a camp. 7 of his cardiac treatment cases are first of their kinds in the entire world. Nationwide he is recognised as instrumental person in use of FFR, LMCA stenting, OCI etc.
Personal Life
Dr Vijay Surase is married to Dr Pallavi Surase (Rodge) who is now an assistant professor at Seth G S Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Dr Surase has two daughters –the elder one is Ms Soniya pursuing degree course in Bachelor Of Management Studies and second one Ms Saanvee studies pre-matriculation.He has worked against corruption in the medical field with others- Dr Arun Gadre a gynecologist based at Pune and Mahad ( Raigad) based physician Dr H S Bawaskar.Dr. Vijay produced a short film "AVANI" based on social issues which nominated for best short film on social issues by Nashik International Film Festival (NIFF).
Research and achievements
67 year old had three types of blood vessels- two attached to brain, two to the kidneys and one to the heart operated on in one session by Dr. Vijay which was one of the rare 3-in-1 stent surgery in Mumbai. Dr Surase has operated a 64 years old chronic smoker, who had nine smoking-induced blockages in the heart, brain, kidneys, hands and legs which was one of the critical case.Dr Surase's research on blood clotting factors is applauded internationally.
Study and awards
