University of Florida Hillel
University of Florida Hillel is one of the oldest Hillel Foundation organization in the United States. The organization was founded in 1937 at the University of Florida. University of Florida Hillel currently serves around 10,000 Jewish students who attend the University of Florida and Santa Fe College.
In October 2004, University of Florida Hillel opened up its headquarters at Norman H. Lipoff Hall. This facility is over 20,000 square feet, and replaced The 50-year old facility named the Hillel House. Liphoff Hall is equipped with a living room gallery, the Hillel Rose Colen Library, and the Aliyah Bet & Machal Museum.
University of Florida Hillel sponsors numerous campus wide activities. In 1998, Keith Dvorchik was named the executive director of University of Florida Hillel and the Gainesville Hillel. He is in charge of a $2 million a year budget. The Associate Director for Jewish Student Life is currently Rabbi Yoni Kaiser-Blueth.
