UbseyMovies

UbseyMovies is an independent film group started in 2005 by Robert Krakower, Robbie Benson, Jeff Benson, and Jon Magram. They are located in San Jose, California where they write and direct short films. They are most famous for their YouTube series EarthBound Saga and their Campus MovieFest awards.

Earthbound Saga Series

EarthBound Saga is a short movie series based on the SNES videogame EarthBound. Started and canceled by Robbie Benson and Jeff Benson in 1995, then eventually restarted in 2005 with Robert Krakower and Jon Magram. It has since gained a cult following on YouTube receiving hundreds of thousands of views, due to its humorous slapstick take on the game.

Campus MovieFest

UbseyMovies has participated in Campus MovieFest in 2006, 2007, and 2008 and has won awards all three years. Their first film, Chicken Strip Jeff (2006) won them best picture and a $7,500 scholarship at the San Jose State University Campus MovieFest. They also won the Turner Classic Movies Award at the national level, which entitled them to be shown on the Turner Classic Movies channel. In 2007, UbseyMovies made Bobby's House for which they won Best Picture. at the regional level and Best Comedy at the national level in New York City. Recently, UbseyMovies' 2008 film, Bus, took home Best Actor at the Regional Grand Finale, and Best Directors at the International Grand Finale in Los Angeles.

Other Notable Films

UbseyMovies has also participated in the 48 Hour Film Project in 2007 and 2008 . They took home the audience choice award in 2008 for their film High Stakes Hookey. The Campus MovieFest film Bobby's House was also an official selection of the international Cinequest Film Festival in 2008.
