Tudawe Brothers Private Ltd is considered as one of the oldest construction companies in Sri Lanka with a history of 70 years. It is based in Colombo and operates throughout the country with the intention to venture into international partnerships.

History

Tudawe Brothers was found by Lawrence de S Tudawe and his brother Dionysius de S Tudawe in 1942 as their family business on partnership basis. In 1947, it was incorporated as Tudawe Brothers Limited under the companies ordiance of 1938.

Milestones

1940 - The business is centred on construction of personalized private housing and urgent needs of war time buildings.

1950 - The Company launches into post independence era buildings.

1960 - The Company moves into construction of major Industrial and Commercial Sectors

1980 - The Tudawe influence is seen in office and institutional edifices; The Company commences MEP / (Mechanical HVAC/Electrical, Fire Detection, Protection System) operations.

1990 - The Company portfolio further broadens to include apartment complexes; Tudawe Brothers branches out into Civil Engineering Construction activities. Obtain recognition.

2000 - Tudawe Brothers begins Construction Industry Services such as quarry operation, aggregate production and asphalt concrete production as forming a separate division.

2010 -Tudawe Brothers ventures into the Irrigation and Water Management sector and in 2012 became the first Sri Lankan Company to be awarded the Status of Chartered Building Company by the Chartered Institute of Builders in the United Kingdom.
