History
Bob Smigel, President of Therm-All Inc., founded the company in Cleveland, OH in 1981. Smigel, together with Vice President Denny Kaczmarek, opened Therm-All’s doors in 1981. In interviews Smigel has said that Therm-All struggled to survive during its first year in the recession of the early 1980s; however, in 1982 the company received its first major order of insulation and production increased. In the years to follow, business expanded and Therm-All acquired plants in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. In 1997, Therm-All purchased Owens Corning Fabricating Solutions and with this acquisition gained its current locations in Georgia, Texas and California. Therm-All later purchased Williams Insulation in 1997 and J.T. Johnson in 2008, subsequently expanding to Arizona and Washington.
