The Vines of Mendoza

Founded in 2006 by Michael Evans and Pablo Gimenez Riili, The Vines of Mendoza is an enterprise that sells private vineyard estates and distributes Argentine wines. It is located in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina. Private vineyard estates are investment properties through which owners produce their own wine. The plots of land range between , producing 5,000 – 10,000 bottles per hectare (2,000 – 4,000 bottles per acre) each year. Estate owners involve themselves in winemaking and vineyard maintanence, working with Argentine winemaker Santiago Achával, if they desire.

The Acequia Wine Club is a wine program that ships Argentine wines not often available outside of Argentina to participating parties in the United States and Europe. The Vines of Mendoza Tasting Room is a central tasting room in the region where visitors can taste wines from 90 Argentina wineries. It is located in the Park Hyatt in Mendoza.

Michael Evans, CEO & Founder
Michael Evans established The Vines of Mendoza in 2006. Prior, he worked on the John Kerry presidential campaign, was COO of the Rock The Vote campaign, and Executive Director of CTIA's Wireless Foundation.

Pablo Gimenez Riili, Co-Founder
Pablo Gimenez Riili, Co-Founder, grew up in Mendoza Argentina. After a career in law and real estate, he opened the Gimenez Riili winery with three of his brothers. In 2006, Riili, with Evans and investors, created The Vines of Mendoza.

Santiago Achaval, Consulting Winemaker

Santiago Achával’s winery in Mendoza, Achaval-Ferrer, maintains four of the five highest rated wines in Argentine history, according to Wine Spectator. He is also Head Winemaker at The Vines of Mendoza.
