The Push from the Bush
The Push from the Bush: A Bulletin of Social History, was a journal devoted to early colonial Australian social history.
It was the first journal in Australia to call itself a journal of social history. Another four editions were printed between 1989 and 1992 under the title "The Push".

The journal was initially created as a way to involve historians in the creation of Australia 1838, the second volume in the ten volume work Australians: a historical library, which was created by the Australian historical profession as a contribution to the Bicentenary of European colonisation. After Australians 1838 was completed in 1984, the journal became independent of the project. <ref name="Australians1838"/>
