The Plight

The Plight is a hardcore based rock and roll band from Leeds, England who are well known for their Thin Lizzy meets Black Flag style.

The band started in Leeds in late 2004 and used to practise in some abandoned offices Rodley, Leeds. Within two months they had written a demo and began playing live all over the UK. The demo was well received and landed them gigs with bands such as Sick Of It All, Modern Life is War, Lights Out and tours with The [...] File, and Gallows.

The Plight then signed to Thirty Days of Night Records with whom they released a short 7 track, 18 minute EP. A full UK tour with southern nasties Gallows followed along with a selection of dates with bands such as Clouds and SSS.

Although they were originally a four piece, Aliskull (vocals), Lewis (guitar), Liam (Bass) and John D (drums), they recruited Stoz to play second guitar in late 2006. Liam left in Spring 2007 and was replaced by Sean.

All their hard work paid off in March 2007 when they were picked up and signed by Visible Noise Records, home to Bring Me The Horizon, The Legacy, and Lostprophets. Liam (bass) left the band on good terms. Sean Loughlin, formerly of Kill The Lights, stepped in. The band stated that they are going to be releasing a new EP in October 2007 followed by an album in 2008.

Black Summer, The New 6 track E.P, was released through Visible Noise October 8th.
