The Day Your Eyes Meet Mine
"The Day Your Eyes Meet Mine" is a song recorded by the Bee Gees in 1969. Produced by Robert Stigwood with Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb and Colin Petersen (as the Bee Gees).
Background
The song was written by Barry Gibb and Maurice Gibb, and was originally recorded for the album Cucumber Castle but was not used and was not released. The song was recorded in 9 July 1969 in IBC Studios, London, and Barry told the press that Andy Williams was going to record it. That version was finally released in 2008 on the remastered version of Cucumber Castle. The song was performed by Samantha Sang in 31 October 1969 at IBC Studios, London same day as she recorded "Please Don't Take My Man Away" (a song also written by Barry and Maurice), but was not released and Barry played guitar and produced Sang's version, with Bill Shepherd conducting the orchestra.
It was re-recorded by Barry Gibb in 1970, for his first album The Kid's No Good but the album was not released. His version was recorded in 9 March 1970 same day as "What's It All AbOUT" and "This Time". The song was performed by Lou Reizner released on his self-titled album on Philips Records, he also recorded "Morning of my Life".
