The Ant
The Ant is an rock alternative music project formed by musician, singer/songwriter Anthony Kukuljan. Sometimes The Ant is mistaken as an alias for its founder Anthony Kukuljan. According to him, The Ant is a music project that from time to time will include many or some other members and musicians regardless his solo debut album and his solo stage appearance.
Early life
Anthony was born on 3 October 1974 and raised in Rijeka, Croatia, and as a child he was devoted to the music. First song that he recalls to heard was on vinyl and it was Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks, after that he received as a gift from his father a bunch of The Beatles and John Lennon albums. He start to learn playing a guitar at the age of 9 but eventually lost his passion by the age of 13. At the age of 17 when the grunge broke the world he was back with the guitar in his hands and in a band.

LP { Love&Pain } - 2012
On 12 October 2012 "The Ant" released his debut album LP { Love&Pain } for Dallas records, a melancholy, alternative rock record with tormented lyrics. The singles "River", "Funeral" achieved modest national and international success and airplays. Album is fully composed ( lyrics & music ) by Anthony Kukuljan and it is an 11-track album. 1.Pray, 2.Funeral, 3.River, 4.Emily, 5.Lovemore, 6.We Said Everything, 7.John&Paul, 8.Sail Away, 9.The End, 10.I.F.A. - I Feel Alone, 11.For Us
The album was produced by Vlado Simcich Vava and mastered at Full Sound studio in London,UK by Sabian.
Song The End was actually the first song to be recorded for the upcoming debut album, so the story become very interesting when Anthony started a debut album with the song named The End and when the newspapers found out that the song The End was finished and mastered in studio on 10 January 2010 two days before earthquake hit Haiti. The song was released asap on CD Baby as an benefit single for Haiti but under the name Anthony K. as The Ant wasn't formed at that time. Some of the money were collected and sent to Haiti via CD Baby.
Career
Describing his career road, Anthony Kukuljan said few words that could explain long story short....
Sometimes you enter the world of music and you start playing and you enjoy being a part of it…and sometimes at some point your life goes the other direction…
and you follow….
So…back in 1993, I started jamming with the local band "PXA" and playing small club gigs and enjoying very much the rehearsal time and everything else that goes in common with being in a band….
Summer 1995…I’ve been called to join one of the major bands at that time "EN FACE"…I was ready to take that chance…
but…sometimes life goes the other direction…
few days later I got a letter…a call to join something I didn’t ever wanted…military service…forced by law…I had too….
A year later…
I didn’t proceed with the music…and even today I don’t know why…maybe I wasn’t enjoying it anymore…maybe cause I was disappointed with what happened and I missed my chance to join a major band…oh well…The End
Years passed…
I always had my guitar in my living room…wherever I was living …and sometimes I tried really hard to get something out…any sound that will make sense…but…I just didn’t feel it…the sound…the chords…the words….
Years later…
Through all of the years that passed one thing kept bothering me…songwriting…the more I was thinking about, the more I was troubled with that…
decision made…
Tascam DP01 FX-CD a 8 channel digital portastudio was purchased and I started to play & record….little pieces…fragments…at that point my goal was to record a few songs for myself…but eventually I get to the point when I needed some kind of feedback…a friends opinion…
one of my best friends…musician…producer…he was asked to listen one demo track and to listen to my idea…and knowing my story…said…"You have to record this and make it public…this must go public"…so “EP” idea was born….
Journey started….
From private purpose recording…to “EP”…from “EP” to a full length album…a record deal…video shooting…first single promotion { River }…album promotion….
