The American Storyteller

The American Storyteller is a daily four minute radio feature - also known as The American Storyteller Radio Journal. In the radio business the word "feature" is used to describe short format programing. Long format programing (30 minutes or more) is typically referred to as a "show".

The American Storyteller Radio Journal is hosted by it's creator, Nationally Syndicated Journalist, Nelson Lauver. Lauver is often referred to as The American Storyteller. The American Storyteller Radio Journal first went on the air in the year 2001.

Initially the feature was rejected by every major radio program distributor in the United States. Nelson Lauver decided to venture out on his own and started marketing his feature to radio stations across the nation. Lauver was met with such overwhelming success that corporate radio executives were left scratching their heads over how he did it. Today, the business model Lauver developed and his marketing tactics are among the most guarded trade secrets in the broadcasting business.

Nelson Lauver researches, writes and narrates each four minute story that is broadcast. Each story has a score composed by MusicAL director, John D. Xanthopolous (Johnny X). The broadcast recording are directed by Lauver and executive producer, Jane L. George. Gregory Reigle serves as the audio enginer.

Lauver's story topics range from hometown human interest stories to deadly serious investigative reporting.

In addition to his work as a journalist with The American Storyteller, Nelson Lauver is a motivational and Keynote speaker who performs approximately 80 to 100 speaking engagements per year.
