Political activities
Basically a restless person, that he is, wanted to do something for the lesser privileged segment of the society, as a secularist down to the core, never believed in caste, creed, race or religion based politics. He is staunch believer that religious difference can't divide and classify people as different nations, his argument is that if Jats can be adherents of Hinduism, Islam, or Sikhsim and still be Jats, why people of Indian Subcontinent can't be simply Indians. He believes that only way one can serve the society is only through the path of politics. With this belief, initially he joined BSP Bahujan Samaj Party and soon became its President for Mumbai region. His quest for political platform did not end at that, soon he realized that BSP was not really his cup of tea and started searching for a political party, which was truly to his liking in every respect.
His chance meeting with Maulana Badruddin Ajmal ended his quest. Maulana Badruddin Ajmal a dynamic leader from Assam, a messiah of downtrodden masses, had founded AUDF Assam United Democratic Front, a political party to quench his thirst of serving the backward people of eastern Indian state of Assam and who had contested assembly elections barely two years from starting the party and won a sizable number of seats in Legislative Assembly, made an instant impact on Tarun Rathi.
He joined the party and took the reigns of Mumbai as President after urging Maulana for spreading the gospel of party at national level, as he felt that people of India, irrespective of there ethnic and religious background were eagerly waiting for party like AUDF who could lift India and Indians at higher level and bring in the equality among the masses. Soon, with his efforts AUDF Assam United Democratic Front was renamed and reorganized as AIUDF All India United Democratic Front.
Mumbai region of the party is growing day by day with his charismatic leadership and networking. He is modern India's emerging mass leader.
