Taguig Renegade Drum and Lyre Corps
Taguig Renegade DLC was founded year 1998 at Tenement Elementary School (Annex) (currently Kapt. Eddie T. Reyes Elementary School) in Barangay Pinagsama Village Taguig City Philippines, The corps was founded by Benedict Gualvez a grade school teacher from the same school, and handled by Noel Dela Cruz when Benedict Gualvez died to due unexplained death during sleep (heart attck or stroke). Noel Dela Cruz handled the corps just AbOUT a months then he decided to pass the responsibility as a Band Master to his cousin Joseph Querubin (also the Band Master of Maybunga Drum and Lyre Corps, in Brgy. Maybunga, Pasig City). Noel will be working abroad, so he doesn't have any choice to pass the responsibility to his cousin.
ACTIVE YEARS
TR first competition was in Brgy. Bagong Ilog Pasig City Fiesta, which they placed 3rd. The corps was just composed of grade 3, 4, 5, and 6 students and they competed with other corps which members are 15 years old above. TR didn't expected to win the said competition but luckily they won the 3rd place. After the competition TR join another competition in Brgy. Ugong Pasig City Fiesta 7 months after the Bagong Ilog competition. TR joined class B and crowned as the champion along with Sta.rosa laguna DLC which was the 2nd placer, and the 3rd placer Sagad Escapades DLC. Ever since the corps joined various competition all over Metro Manila which they won a lot of minor and major prizes and also they were frequently invited for fiesta's celebration and some MusicAL events.
TR joined the very first National Drum and Lyre Competition which organized by DLCAPI (Drum and Lyre Corps Association of the Philippines Inc.) held in Marikina City year 2000 which they were crowned CHAMPION. On the next year of national dlc competition, they are still the champion which they were named "BACK TO BACK CHAMPION", and on the third year they are still strong and still got the championship and now named as "GRAND SLAM CHAMPION". and after that year the band was disbanded due to the members have to focus on their studies and with their personal lives. After the 3rd competition DLCAPI is not active and one officer pursued another competition for the 4th time. Most of the corps did not joined the said compettiion and TR supposedly won't gonna be joining however they must, due to they are the defending champion. TR prepared two days before the said event. Their championship was taken away from them and Mayundon DLC from Los Baños, Laguna took the championship and TR places second after Mayundon DLC. But the said competition is not an official National DLC competition as per DLCAPI.
After the 4th National Competition. TR joined Brgy. Ugong DLC competition, which they were disqualified, due to exceeding the minimum members required. After that competition the last competition they joined was in Brgy. Bagong Ilog which they placed 3rd Together with QCHS warriors DLC as the 1st placer.
TR made a reunion project last February 2009 which they collaborated with Maybunga DLC members and QCHS warriors DLC elite5 colorguards. They placed 3rd in Brgy. Buting DLC competition along with the 1st placer Sinag Katipunan DLC and 2nd placer Gallant 88 DLC, prior that they also joined the Taguig City DLC competition which they won 2nd place with a controversy that they supposedly got the championship due to they don't have a galla uniform as per the judges.
