Tacere is a Finnish metal band.
Biography
Tacere is a diverse metal band from Finland. Tacere occupies Karri Knuutila, the founder of the band as their male vocalist and Helena Haaparanta as their female vocalist. Due to their line up that is arguably similar to other Finnish metal band, Nightwish they've often been compared to them in the media. Tacere however claims that they don't follow Nightwishes' footsteps, and that their MusicAL influences come from elsewhere.
Knuutila originally formed Tacere (First known as "Tacet Lacrimae") as his solo project, but expanded upon the idea to create a full sized band. The first official line-up was formed at the end of year 2002. Band's name was shortened to Tacere and Tacere recorded their first studio record "Into your dreams". Tacere had had only male vocals until in spring 2003 Helena Haaparanta joined the band (she had made quest appearance before on Tacere's "The legend of Gévaudan" demo)
In 2005 Tacere signed a recording contract with SM-Records and their first single "I devour" was released 31.5.2006. A Mini album called “A voice in the dark” followed in November 2006. Tacere released their first full length album in 2007. The album is called "Beautiful Darkness" and it has been released in Finland, as well as in some other European countries. It's also been released in Japan and some other Asian countries.
