SyncShield

SyncShield is a Mobile device management (MDM) solution providing over-the-air (OTA) management of Smartphone security, applications and settings. SyncShield is a device manufacturer and application software manufacturer independent solution that supports both Symbian and Windows Mobile devices.

SyncShield supports both Service Providers and operators that offer mobile device management for businesses as a managed (MSP) or hosted service (ASP). Also in-house servers are supported.

Overview

Capricode SyncShield is a Mobile device management solution, which manages mobile devices remotely and transparently over-the-air (OTA). SyncShield is based on Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Device Management (DM) standard. SyncShield is a Client-Server solution which uses SyncML protocol in communication between the client and the server.

SyncShield client is installed on the mobile device and after installation it requires no user interaction. All device management activities are centrally managed from the server side.

SyncShield is used via a web user interface accessible through secure HTTPS connection.

Features

• Provisioning of device settings: provisioning the managed devices with settings, such as E-mail accounts and access points.
• Settings monitoring: setting and verifying the settings of managed devices, gathering diagnostics information and application inventory.
• Device security: back up, restore, lock, wipe and set up functionality restrictions for managed devices.
• Asset and application management: install/remove, update, gather inventory, version check and the starting or stopping of mobile applications, such as virus protection, encryption and mobile email clients.

Server

SyncShield server is deployed as Software as a Service (SaaS) and supports multiple organisations and organisation levels through virtualisation. The management user interface is web based and accessbile through secure HTTPS connection.

Client

SyncShield client is installed to the mobile device and after installation requires no user interaction. Supported device platforms include:
