The band is composed of Nathan Fowler (songwriting, production, synths, and vocals) and Sonny Byrd (guitar, additional vocals). "Stella by Starlight" rose to national recognition while a college band at Duke University. They specialized in covering current Top 40 and dance music, often stringing and mashing up such as "Sexy Back" into medleys, in part due to the band's programing and production abilities.
