Spikes Asia Advertising Festival

The Spikes Asia Advertising Festival is a yearly event to award creative excellence in advertising and related fields in Asia and Australasia.

Based on the Spikes Asia Awards, launched in 1989, the inaugural Spikes festival took place from 16-28 September 2009 at Suntec City in Singapore.

It is presented by the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival - owned by British publisher and conference organiser EMAP plc - and joint-venture partner Haymarket Group.

The awards

Spikes juries are drawn from experts in each field from around the world. Each jury is headed by a jury president. During the festival, they judge submissions in the following categories: TV/cinema, print, outdoor, radio, digital, the Jade Spikes for integrated, direct and sales promotion, media, print craft, TV/cinema craft and design.

Apart from the awards, the festival includes seminars, workshops, exhibitions and screenings.

Young Spikes competition

The Young Spikes competition provides an opportunity for young advertising and media talent (no older than 28 years) from Asia to demonstrate their skills.

Teams of between two and four competitors have 48 hours to create an integrated advertising campaign for a charity or non-profit organisation.
