Sleep to Live is a mattress retailer headquartered in North Carolina. Sleep to Live mattresses are sold in over 1400 stores across the U.S.

What Sleep to Live may be most known for is the Sleep to Live Institute,which was created to push sleep research to a new level. The institute is headed up by Dr. Robert Oexman, who is a sleep surface and ergonomics expert.

History

1904: The Mebane Bedding Company was founded in Mebane, NC. 1910-1920: Mattress and box spring units are carefully hand-assembled to provide lasting comfort and durability. This becomes one of the company's manufacturing standards, and is still practiced today.
1920-1930: The Company emerges as an industry pioneer through its development of patented components and manufacturing procedures.
1930-1940: Now known as the Mebane-Royall Co., company catalogs showcase the open boxspring style popular during the 1930s.
1940-1950: Well known for its "Unbreakable" all iron boxsprings , the Mebane-Royall Co. creates a combination wood/steel boxspring to reduce steel use during World War II.
1950-1960: Delivery trucks feature the name of the its most popular mattress, Kingsdown®.
1960-1970: Interstate expansion lead to new hotel construction projects and new business opportunities.
1970-1989: The company officially changes its name to "Kingsdown, Inc." and sells its first international account. Scientific analysis and durability testing are introduced in manufacturing in the late 1970s to ensure only the highest quality products are introduced to the public.
1980-1990: Kingsdown® receives front page Trade recognition for "Innovating the Business" . The company's new management team ushers in the start of explosive growth.
1990-2000: DormoDiagnostics®is introduced. This is the world's first and only computer system that scientifically determines the best sleep surface for any body type.
2007: BodyDiagnostics®, the second generation of DormoDiagnostics® is introduced. BodyDiagnostics® is distributed worldwide.
2009: The Sleep to Live® rebranding campaign introduces new technology and product line-up.
