Shang Properties, Inc.

Shang Properties, Inc., formerly Kouk Group Philippines Properties, Inc., is the Philippine subsidiary of Singapore-based real estate firm Kuok (Singapore) Limited. The present corporate name was a result of the merger between Edsa Property Holdings and Kuok Philippine Properties. The current landbank reaches AbOUT 500 hectares in including prime properties in Bonifacio Global City and Ortigas Center. Annual revenue of the company reaches Php1.5 billion through income from rents Shangri-La mall in Ortigas and Enterprise Center office tower in Makati. The company acquired a prime lot from Asian Plaza, Inc. of the Phinma group.

History

The Kuok Group entered the Philippines through partnership with the Ayalas in Makati. In 2002, the company its first residential condominium project the 46-storey Shang Grand Tower. With the success Shang Grand Tower, it built the second residential project, the twin tower 60-storey St. Francis Shangri-La Place.

In 2007, the group merged Edsa Property Holdings and Kuok Philippine Properties into Shang Properties, Inc. In 2008, it acquired shares of San Miguel Properties Inc. (SMPI) in KSA Realty Corporation, owner of The Enterprise Center at Makati CBD, effectively allowing Shang Properties control of the office tower.

Shang Properties has 100% stake in the Shangri-La Plaza Corporation, operator of upscale Shangri-La Plaza mall in Ortigas Center. It holds a 52.9% share in KSA Realty Corporation, which owns The Enterprise Center office tower in Makati.

The company is also backed by Kerry Properties, the Kuok Group, and Shangri-La International Hotels and Resorts.
