Seven Spears of Imizu
The were seven Samurai who sacrified themselves at the Battle of Imizu to save the head of the Jinbo Clan, Jinbo Nagamoto.
The Seven Spears of Imizu were the following Samurai:
*Chiba Kazusa - Personal page to Jinbo Nagamoto
*Jinbo Kiyoshige - Advisor to Jinbo Nagamoto
*Matsutake Yajiro - Son of Jinbo clan general Matsutake Kiyotaro
*Jinbo Gensei - Warrior-Monk also known as Jinbo Nagakage
*Kojima Hitachi - Warrior of the Jinbo clan and adopted son of Matsutake Kiyotaro
*Nishimura Keizo - Former Ronin banished from the Oda clan of Owari province.
*Mori Ottosei - Also a former Ronin banished from the Oda clan of Owari province.
Unlike other examples of "Seven Spears", the Seven Spears of Imizu were all killed during the course of the battle. They were honored posthumously by Jinbo Nagamoto for sacrificing themselves to save his life, and he later built and dedicated the Kazusadera Temple in their honor in 1559. The temple itself was later destroyed by fire and never rebuilt.
