Sean Byrne (footballer born 1989)
Sean Byrne (born on July 13 1989 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer currently playing for Bohemians in the League of Ireland.
Career
Byrne played his schoolboy football at The Famous footballing nursery Home Farm where he stayed for 7 years before moving to Belvedere F.C. at under 16. During this time, he represented Republic of Ireland at under 15 and under 18 level.
Sean gathered interest from many clubs while at Belvedere and joined Bohs in pre-season 2008, appearing soon after in their friendly against Burnley at Dalymount Park. Throughout he was a regular in Bohs' "A" team that reached the Grand Final of that competition.1 He made his first team debut on April 7 2009 when appearing as a substitute in Bohs' 2-0 win over Galway United at Terryland Park.2
He comes from a footballing family, his father John played for Bohemians, Sligo Rovers and St. Patricks Athletic throughout the 1980s and 90s.
