Scenes (the band)
Scenes are a Jazz/Post-Rock quartet from Tralee, County Kerry, Republic of Ireland. Band members are Billy Kemp (Vocals/Guitars) , Eamon Lenihan (Guitars), Eoin O'Brien (Drums) and Danny Riordan (Bass). The band formed in June 2005 as "6th of October City", Scenes have played with many notable acts such as USAISAMONSTER[1], Talibam! and were featured in the BLOOM 2006 festival along with The Redneck Manifesto[2].
It has been noted over the months from January to June 2007 that the bands name has been in flux. While regularly advertising concerts under the name 'Scenes(The Brand)', the bands on stage personas have announced names varying from 'Scenes', 'Scones' and 'Ski Jeans'. The bands website continues to list the name as 'Scenes'. It has been suggested by some that the name alterations May Be due to contractual issues with the label BeeTag Media. BeeTag Media have denied this.
Discography
Scenes were signed to BeeTag Media[3] in February 2007 and have since relearsed their first single "Well...It's no Bruce Springstein" with the label. There debut e.p. is still awaiting mixture. All recorded by J.C. , Johnny Lillis, The name with no John and Darragh the nameless In Limerick University's recording studio in December 2006. The tracks: "The fruit of your labour gone pear shaped", "Well... its no bruce sprinsteen" and "Cut off your nose and pretend your not a liar".
Members of The brand claim to be inspired by a wide variety of musics but in truth only really listen to music that in one form or another relates to hip hop. This was inspired by their first ep's dubious producer.
There is also another band named "the Scenes" and they are German ProgresS rock musicians.
