SAGE SA is a privately-held software publisher which services the financial industry. SAGE has its headquarters in Switzerland, and branches in Dubai and Singapore.

History

SAGE was established in 1986 by a group of graduates from University of Lausanne, Switzerland and was funded by private individuals. The company started by delivering trading software and customizing ERP for small to medium firms and for governmental institutions in the Lake Geneva area.

In the mid-90’s, SAGE started delivering solutions to the media industry and supporting the banking industry. The company expanded internationally and installed its systems in the Middle East and in Northern Europe.

In early 2000, SAGE re-focused its strategy by delivering front to back office systems catering to the financial industry. Currently, SAGE focuses on services like Research and Development, System Implementation, Project Management & Training and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for hosted solutions or on-site installations.

SAGE is headquartered in Lausanne and recently opened branches in Singapore to serve the Asia-Pacific region and in Dubai Internet City to serve the Middle East and North Africa region.

Business

The firm was a pioneer in spotting the growing trends and strong sustained demand for a cost-effective, flexible and reliable software for the finance industry. SAGE has developed different solutions from front to back-end banking system, web-enabled systems, to a modular and totally integrated banking system packed with easy-to-use productive features.

SAGE currently employs professionals with expertise in finance and banking business analysis, project management and systems’ development. SAGE also partners with leading companies in the technology and banking industry to offer its clients comprehensive solutions based on best practices in the market. SAGE’s global partners include IBM, HCL, FRSGlobal, Oracle, Matlab, Reuters, Telekurs and Swift amongst many others. SAGE has also fostered regional partnerships in APAC with Kapronasia in China and Ocean Technology in Vietnam. SAGE's local partners in MENA include SBM in Saudi, GBM in UAE as well as KBM in Kuwait.

Growth

The company has enjoyed constant growth of its turnover since its creation and managed to remain profitable each year since inception. Through a very conservative strategy, SAGE has remained totally self-financed.

The current revenue for SAGE is derived mainly from the following:

  • Licenses sale
  • Implementation and consulting services to its customers when delivering turnkey solutions
  • Maintenance fees on installed systems

Approximately 60% of its sales are generated outside of Switzerland.
