Rob Chidley
Rob Chidley (born 1981 in Hastings, England) is a British author. His debut novel, entitled The Third Tribe, was published in 2009 and was available online from 12 May 2009.
Biography
Rob Chidley was born in Hastings in 1981, the youngest of two children. He grew up in Hastings but the family were relocated to Dorset in the south of England due to his family's work. He went to Poole Grammar School for his secondary school education before studying English Literature at Birmingham University.
He returned to Dorset at the completion of his degree and took up a teaching post in 2003 at his old school, Poole Grammar School, where he was a year 8 form tutor and English teacher. After teaching at the school for two years he departed in 2005 to get married.
After leaving the classroom, he joined the international housing charity Habitat for Humanity as a Volunteer Coordinator, before moving into a writing role a Communications Officer.
Writing career
Rob wrote his debut novel, The Third Tribe during 2008 and the book was subsequently published in 2009, with cover designs by Andy Ashdown. It was initially made available on Amazon and the Canaan Press website on 12 May 2009. The official book launch was held at Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey.
The novel received a positive review from the New York Times best-selling author G.P. Taylor, who wrote "Be prepared to be gripped and on the edge of your seats...gripping and EXCITING, The Third Tribe is a must-read". Russ Bravo, the editor of Inspire Magazine, wrote "The Third Tribe features characters that you care AbOUT, writing that engages and involves the reader and a message that is both powerful and desperately needed.
