RigBag Ltd. was founded in March 2011 by Randall Wharton. It began trading online in 2013. In June 2012 RigBag won the Cork regional competition in the Blueface Business elevator competition. In April 2013 RigBag was runner-up for the Most Investable Company Award at the Sophia Business Angels International Spring Venture Academy, held at the SKEMA Executive Business School in Sophia Antipolis, France. In June 2013 RigBag won "Angel or VC Backed Startup of the year" at the Startup Awards in Dublin, Ireland.
