Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports
Owned by NBC Sports and MTV Networks, Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports was created in December 2008 to serve as a global business encompassing national and International Action sports tours and events, multimedia content and production, and a consumer-facing lifestyle brand.
History
Building on the successful foundation of the Action Sports Tour (AST), Alli continues to serve as the owner and operator of both the Dew Tour and the Winter Dew Tour as well as the Free Flow Tour and the China Invitational. Newly formed partnerships with industry leaders and premier properties Maloof Money Cup, the AMA Motocross Championships and the King of Wake series will also fall under the Alli brand. These Alli partnerships will include online television rights, television programming on NBC Sports and MTV Networks, global media content distribution, sponsorship sales, and marketing and promotion across all platforms. Dew Tour
The Dew Tour, the premier season-long series of action sports, consists of five major, multi-sport events, featuring skateboarding (park and vert), BMX (park, vert and dirt) and FMX. Programming spans 41 hours across international networks, reaching 280 million homes in 100 countries. The events extend across the country, have a cumulative points system and a $3.5 million competitive purse. The Dew Tour has been the cornerstone property of AST over the last four years, and its success was what enabled the formation of Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports. The Dew Tour crowns year-end champions in each of its six disciplines including 2008 Dew Cup winners Chaz Ortiz (skateboard park), Pierre-Luc Gagnon (skateboard vert), Daniel Dhers (BMX park), Jamie Bestwick (BMX vert), Cam White (BMX dirt) and Adam Jones (FMX).
Winter Dew Tour
With its launch the Winter Dew Tour expands Alli's footprint into the winter action sports. Similar to the Dew Tour's summer competition structure, the Winter Dew Tour will span the country and will be based on a cumulative points system as the top snow athletes battle it out for a piece of the $1.5 million prize purse and the chance to take home the Dew Cup at the conclusion of the season. Featuring men's and women's snowboard (superpipe and slopestyle) and men's freeskiing (superpipe and slopestyle), the Tour will feature over 28 hours of original network programming.
Free Flow Tour
The Free Flow Tour, the Dew Tour's official amateur series, provides amateur athletes with the chance to compete against the pros on the Dew Tour. The Free Flow Tour consists of 50 events across 26 cities in the U.S., featuring skateboarding (park and vert) and BMX (park and vert). Winners from each of The 50 events compete in the Free Flow Tour Finals, where each overall winner earns a wildcard berth into the Dew Tour's PlayStation Pro in Orlando, Fla.
China Invitational
The China Invitational is Alli's first international expansion initiative. The inaugural China Invitational was held in April 2008 in Beijing, China and featured the top skateboarders competing in vert and park disciplines.
AMA Motocross Championship
A new addition to Alli, the AMA Motocross Championship is the top outdoor series in motocross, drawing elite rider talent from all around the world. The MX Sports-organized series, which began in 1972, spans 12 races across the U.S. and, at the end of each year, the AMA National Motocross Championship titles are awarded based on the riders' performances over the entire series.
Maloof Money Cup
Held for the first time in 2008, the Maloof Money Cup, which is owned and operated by the Maloof family, has quickly become one of the premier skateboarding events within the community, attracting the sport's top athletes. Including three professional competitions -- men's and women's street and men's vert -- and the amateur championships, the Maloof Money Cup boasts the largest single-event purse in skateboarding with over $450,000 in prize money.
King of Wake
As the elite pro wakeboarding circuit, the King of Wake series has attracted the sport's top riders from around the globe. With more than $300,000 in prize money over an eight-event season, riders compete to be named the "King of Wake" -- an award based on points accumulated at each stop of the series. Events include Wake Games, WWA National Championships, WWA World Championships and the five-stop Pro Wakeboard Tour.
