Queen Da Boss

Renate Sia Boss (born on December 28, 1989 in Freetown, Sierra Leone) better known by her stage name Queen Da Boss is a Sierra Leonese rapper and songwriter, known for her mixture of hip hop and roots music with lyrics in English and the Krio language. She moved to Germany in 2002 where she began her music career.

Early life

Queen Da Boss was born Renate Sia Boss on December 28, 1989 in Freetown, Sierra Leone to parents from the Kono ethnic group. In Freetown, she attended the Freetown Secondary School for Girls. While in Germany, she attended Adolf Blankenhorn Secondary School and currently furthers her Education in the United Kingdom.

Queen’s biological father was never there to see her grow up, he abandoned the family after her mother gave birth to her. In 2002 she was adopted by a German man that married her mother. At the age of 14 in 2004 she moved to Germany along with her mother and her adopted father. she discovered her talent in music and started writing lyrix and rapping. As time went on the dream and the spirit of music kept aside because Queen had no support from anyone, but she never gave her dream up.

Career

In 2006, she worked with different underground Artists and a well known Artist from the 90s Main Piece, who did the remaking of “GET DOWN ON IT”. He signed her to Def Rhythm Label and she recorded her first Album Where I'm From (Base On Roots) which prelaunched 26th October, 2007. Queen was also featured 2006 in an African Movie "And the Kola nut Said No", viewed in the German Cinema (Kommunales Kino). She later start her growing Label Diamond Recordz formerly called BM.Records (Boss Music Records) in 2008.
