Pyramid (sport)

Pyramid is a full contact sport in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica fictional universe that appears to be the most popular sport in the Twelve Colonies.

It appears to be a combination of rugby, basketball, and racket ball.

The game is very roughly based on the game from the original Battlestar Galactica fictional universe called Triad.

Triad and Pyramid

Pyramid is a stylized version of Triad from the 1978 Series.

Pyramid was originally the name of the poker like card game played the 1978 series, which became know as Triad in the Reimagining Series.

In the Battlestar Galactica Podcasts, a form of commentary released shortly after each episode, Ron Moore has said the switching of the names was entirely an error lost in the writing process. This makes no impact on the story.
