Powerful Peanuts is an online news and entertainment website launched in early 2009, based in the UK. Its official slogan is Get Involved People and has been created to both entertain and inform its readers.
Coverage is across all genres including music, sports, celebrities, politics and general news â the emphasis is on highlighting unusual and interesting items that people may not get or have access to in their normal forms of media.
It gives comprehensive daily updates, usually adding news items more than once during a 24-hour period. The site will often update live from events like major music festivals and President Obama taking power.
It has no connection to any corporate body or company and prides itself on being totally independent and free from all restrictions to report how it sees fit. There is also a dedicated subsite focusing on New Music which is intended to give rising acts and bands a platform to introduce themselves to a wider audience â notably it was one of the first sites to back chart-topper Lady Gaga.

The site made its name with exclusive BIG interviews with famous rock bands Franz Ferdinand and The View.
