Peter James Madden
Peter James Madden (born in 1961 in Sydney) is a minister, international speaker, author, musician, and founder of Heal Our Land Ministries. He is currently married to Katalin and lives in Kingston, Tasmania. He has four adult children from his first marriage.
Controversial Figure
Peter Madden is a controversial and divisive figure within the Gay and Lesbian Community. He has drawn significant criticism regarding his assertions that Sydney's Gay Mardi Gras is used as 'recruitment time' to recruit impressionable young people. This stand led to Madden being branded a bigot and a hypocrite several times by representatives of the GBLT community.
Madden campaigned against Clover Moore at the last NSW State election for the Christian Democratic Party. During this campaign Madden admitted to being "a reformed [...] addict" (March, 2011).
Mr Madden explained during an interview with the Daily Telegraph, that he was sexually abused between the ages of nine and 17 by an older female relative and that it 'put seeds of lust into my life so deep it took a long long time for me to overcome that'.
Following from this experience Madden struggled through [...] and [...] addiction, resulting in the eventual break-up of his first marriage and loss of significant contact with his four children decades ago. These experiences along with his deep personal faith have helped influence Madden's strong support for child protection, family values and passionate opposition against same [...] marriage and abortion.
Peter Madden was the lead Senate candidate in Tasmania for Family First in the Federal Election on September 7, 2013.
Hate Truck
Madden also drew criticism for his ‘Queensland Election Prayer Rally Tour’ which stopped unexpectedly in Lismore, NSW after being vandalised by GBLT demonstrators. The vandals painted the words 'Equal Rights and Gay Rights Now' over the original sign, depicting on one side a chalk board which read, "The dark side of same-[...] marriage, homosexual [...]-ed for your young children, It's already happening in the US and Europe" and on the other side a picture of a father and son saying "Not my children! Not on my watch! ALP you've gone too far!". The truck subsequently became known as 'The Hate Truck'.

Political Involvement
Peter Madden entered the political arena, standing for the state seat of Sydney for the Christian Democratic Party. He applied his skills in the fight against anti family and general socialist agendas growing within Australian politics.
Peter was particularly focused on combating the Greens economic and social policies. Since that time he has often spoken out publicly and debated the issues on national radio and television. He has also featured as a speaker at several Anti Carbon Tax rallies throughout New South Wales and the ACT, highlighting the damaging effects of this tax on families and Australia generally.
Through this experience Peter has emerged as a strong and vocal advocate for protection of marriage and family values, as well as smaller government and lower taxation. Peter's personal experience of living and working in California, South Africa and across 20 countries has given him a unique and valuable understanding of global economic and political issues.
Pioneer
After studying at the International Institute for Creative Ministries in Sydney, Madden's ministerial career started with the pioneering of a new church in Thirroul NSW, now called 'South Coast City Church' caring for 700-800 people. From there he moved to California for 6 years where he produced and hosted the "Celebrate Life" television show.
He also authored two best selling books, pioneered another church and travelled extensively as a speaker and musician. On returning to Australia he moved to Brisbane and continued his work in church ministry and began travelling from 1998-2007 as an Internationally renowned speaker across 20 nations.
