Paul Espinoza
Paul Espinoza, known professionally as Paul Alex, (born January 18, 1988) is an American entrepreneur and former police detective. After leaving law enforcement, he founded ATMTogether.com, a business specializing in ATM placement, and later established the merchant-services company CashSwipe.com.
Career
Espinoza worked as a police officer and later a detective in California, serving in a narcotics task force before being assigned to a special victims unit. Around 2017–2018, while still serving as an officer, he began investing in ATMs as a side venture, eventually scaling to around 30 machines in the San Francisco Bay Area; accounts of his exact posting location vary between sources. He left the police force in 2021 to run the business full-time. Business Insider reported reviewing financial statements showing his ATM company and a related credit-card-terminal business generated a combined self-reported net profit of roughly $4.2 million between January 2021 and April 2023.
He later founded CashSwipe.com, a company offering training and support for people entering the merchant-services and credit-card-processing industry, and has appeared discussing the payments industry on Nasdaq's TradeTalks program.
