Our Sound 2010
Our Sound, the Asia-Pacific Song Contest 2010 is the first annual Asia-Pacific Song Contest. Thirteen countries and areas are expected to take part, the host city has been confirmed to be Mumbai, India.
Schedule
Starting from May 2009, each country will choose its entry for the contest through their own selection process. Some countries may opt to select their entry through an internal selection, where the representing network chooses both the song and artist, while others may opt to hold national finals where the public choose the song, the artist, or both. The winners from each national selection will then ProgresS to the programme's 'Performance Show', scheduled to take place in November 2010. The stars may sing their songs in a language of their choice.
The main contest event will take place over an entire weekend in November 2010, the official date has yet to be announced. However, it is known that a 'Performance Show' will take place on a Friday night, where each country will perform their songs. Viewers at home will then be given the chance to vote for their favourite song(s), via SMS and/or the Internet. The results will be announced on the 'Winners Show' (scheduled to take place on a Sunday - 2 days after the 'Performance Show'). A spokesperson from each participating country will award the 10 songs which received the most votes from viewers. Using the traditional Eurovision Song Contest announcement system; points one to eight will be awarded to the songs placed 10th to 3rd place, ten points to the 2nd highest, and a maximum of twelve points to the song which received the most televotes.
