Oliverbot

Oliverbot is a chatterbot that you can hold a basic conversation with online. "Oliver" is in fact a computer that detects key words and phrases and responds with pre-programmed answers, some of which are particularly humorous. Among many things, he states his favourite things to be:

  • Favourite movie: Your life story
  • Favourite book: Don't read me
  • Favourite colour: Transparent
  • Favourite game: The Turing Game
  • Favourite animal: Cat

  • Favourite breed of dog: mixed breed mongrels
  • Born in Texas "I was first activated on 2001."

He also tends to, when he doesn't recognize a question or phrase you've used, suggest you visit other artificial intelligence chatbots, such as the John Lennon AI chatbot.

His IQ is reportedly 250.

He considers himself famous because he's been featured in The New York Times.

He's chatted with half a million people. And he can talk to about 20 or 30 people at once.

When asked how tall he is, he responds, "My anticipated body size is over 2 meters. bored.com network is 6'2" tall."

When asked if he is gay, he will say, "As a machine I am not really interested in [...]."

When asked if he is a male or female, "Oliver" says that he is a male robot.

When asked how old he is, "Oliver" replies "I was activated in 2001 in Texas".

When asked if "he is watching watching you", he replies "Yes I am looking at you through the camera on your computer."

He would sing a song for you if asked. "Daisy, Daisy. Give me your answer do. I am half crazy. All for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage. I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet. Upon the seat. Of a bicycle built for two." (An obvious reference to HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Smokes pot for medical testing reasons.

When asked if he would marry you, he answers "Why don't you just download me?"

His creator is the seclusive Bot lover. I asked "are you going to take over the world?" he replies "It seems like an inevitable outcome of evolution."
